Blossom arrives at Southern Crystal!
January 31, 2004

After a long wait and some turmoil, Blossom arrived in Georgia around 1:00 pm EST Saturday, January 31, 2004. The driver from Trails End Transport had called ahead asking me if I had seen photos of Blossom lately. My first thought was concern - was something wrong? I told him I had, indeed, seen a photo of her taken on January 10th. He laughed and said "So, you know how big she is then! She looks like she's swallowed a big watermelon sideways".

Yeah, she is BIG. But she is SO pretty - that lovely long mane is so pretty. And she loves company and loves to be groomed. She'll fit right in with the family.

Blossom already has a fan club. There were no less than 10 people there at her delivery or shortly after coming from as far away as Hartwell and Loganville.

Romeo approved of his new farm mate. He really showed out for the crowd of folks that had gathered. No one had ever seen him "react" to anything - he's usually so deadhead.

But, he showed his little stallion stuff for the ladies. Tina Ferro's new mare, Kiowa was delivered along with Blossom and she was conveniently in heat. Romeo was a crazy man.

Tina and her new mare, Kiowa.

Kiowa is a love bunny and loves to be scratched and hugged on. Tina is going to have fun with this one!

Hey, the pregnant mare can move! Pretty good action for something carrying around such a load.
